Mount Fuji Day Tour

Pick-up from hotel in Tokyo, Scenic drive to Mt. Fuji area (2 hours via Chuo Expressway), watch Mt. Fuji grow larger as you approach, driver provides introduction to Fuji's history and significance

Mt. Fuji 5th Station visit at 2,300m elevation (weather and season permitting), experience the crisp mountain air and significant temperature change, take in panoramic views of the summit above and Five Lakes region below, walk around station area breathing thin mountain air, visit small shrine dedicated to Mt. Fuji's deity, browse souvenir shops for volcanic rock items, hiking sticks, Fuji cookies and unique memorabilia, capture iconic photos at torii gate with summit backdrop, learn about climbing season and pilgrimage traditions (Note: 5th Station closed mid-November to mid-April due to snow - alternative viewpoints visited during winter)

Drive to Chureito Pagoda area (30 minutes)

Chureito Pagoda visit, climb approximately 400 steps through forested hillside to reach the pagoda, photograph the iconic five-story pagoda with Mt. Fuji rising majestically behind it (one of Japan's most famous photo compositions), enjoy panoramic views of Fujiyoshida city and surrounding mountains, rest and take photos from various angles around the pagoda grounds (especially beautiful during cherry blossom season late March-early April)

Drive to Lake Kawaguchi area (15 minutes)

Lunch at Lake Kawaguchi, lakeside restaurants with Mt. Fuji views, options include houtou (hearty miso noodle soup - Yamanashi specialty), tempura, sushi, or local cuisine (lunch not included, typical cost ¥1,200-2,000)

Lake Kawaguchi exploration, walk along scenic lakeshore promenade, see Mt. Fuji's perfect reflection on calm water days, visit lakeside observation points, browse local shops for Fuji souvenirs and regional products, enjoy peaceful mountain lake atmosphere

Oshino Hakkai traditional village, explore eight sacred spring-fed ponds with crystal-clear water (you can see bottom despite 8m depth), walk among traditional thatched-roof houses, see Mt. Fuji backdrop from multiple pond viewpoints, browse local shops selling spring water, mochi, and handcrafts, try local snacks, learn about the village's 1,200-year history and sacred spring water tradition

Optional: Oishi Park (seasonal flower fields with Fuji views) OR Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum (European-style garden and music boxes) OR additional Lake Kawaguchi photo spots, choice based on season, interests, and time

Return drive to Tokyo (approximately 2-2.5 hours depending on traffic and route)
