📝 Important Notes
Mt. Fuji Visibility: Mt. Fuji is often hidden by clouds (60-70% of days). We CANNOT guarantee views - weather is unpredictable. Morning departures from Tokyo offer best chances. Don't worry - the Fuji Five Lakes area is beautiful regardless!
5th Station Seasonal Closure: The Subaru Line road to Mt. Fuji 5th Station closes due to snow typically December-late April. If you're visiting winter/early spring and want 5th Station access, it won't be possible. We'll inform you of status when booking.
Weather at 5th Station: Even if road is open, 5th Station is at 2,305m elevation - can be COLD and windy even in summer. Bring warm layers if visiting!
Luggage for Mt. Fuji Stays: Hotels around Lake Kawaguchi are casual resort-style. Pack comfortable outdoor clothing, walking shoes, camera, and layers for changing temperatures.
Return Journey: Book return to Tokyo at least 48 hours in advance. Many guests do 1-2 nights at Mt. Fuji then continue to Hakone (can arrange).
Best Time to Visit:
- Photography: Winter (Dec-Mar) - clearest air, snow-capped peak
- Activities: Summer (Jun-Aug) - hiking, outdoor fun
- Fall Colors: Late October-early November
- Avoid: Rainy season (mid-June to mid-July) - constant clouds
Vehicle Selection: Choose based on passengers + luggage. Outdoor enthusiasts often have hiking gear, cameras - factor this in. See "Select Vehicles."
Advance Booking: Minimum 48 hours. During peak seasons (summer climbing season, autumn colors, winter snow season), book 1 week ahead.
Payment: Pay online at booking or with driver (cash JPY/credit card).
Photo Stops: Our drivers know the BEST photo spots! Lawson convenience store at Lake Kawaguchi (iconic shot with store sign and Fuji), Chureito Pagoda (if time permits), lakeside viewpoints. Basic stops included, extended photo tours available for additional fee.
Combining with Hakone: Many guests do Tokyo→Fuji (2 nights)→Hakone (1 night)→Tokyo. We can arrange all transfers - package discount available.
Climbing Mt. Fuji: If you're planning to climb (July-August only), we can drop you at 5th Station trailhead. Most climbers spend afternoon at 5th Station acclimatizing, climb overnight, see sunrise from summit, descend next day. Arrange return transfer accordingly!
